Acknowledging traditions at a ceremony, such as a wedding, is a continuation of a story for the couple, family and guests.  

It is a delicate art to acknowledge the cultural heritages in a sensitive and celebratory way.  As a marriage celebrant I am committed to ensuring the unique cultures of the couple are honoured and acknowledged.

I specialize in multicultural wedding celebrations and have celebrated the marriages of couples who bring Buddhist, Jewish, Greek and Christian heritages to the celebration.

I like to explain the story of traditions to guests. For example, the meaning of the Chuppah for Jewish weddings , the meaning of the crown for Greek weddings.

Guests regularly come up to me and say how much they appreciate understanding the meanings. It also connects them more to the celebration.  

I approach each wedding as a one off special memory, taking the initial brief to create a wedding service suited to each couple.

Every wedding ceremony is unique – that is my promise to every couple.

This includes acknowledging people who are special to you, whether present or not. Significant people in your life  can also be honoured and recognised on your special day.

If you are a couple who bring different cultures to your wedding and would like them acknowledged , I  will be pleased to share ideas with you. There are many ways the rituals, traditions and stories can be incorporated into a celebration of your love.
